In the late 80s, Pankaj Parashar was at Film City and experienced something memorable. He remembers, "Vinod Khanna, Rajinikanth, Rishi Kapoor, and Shakti Kapoor were there. They were all filming different movies, but there was one shared table arranged for lunch since everyone had received some tasty food. They invited me to have lunch with them. Then, without warning, they all got to their feet. Can you envision? Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Rajinikanth, Shakti Kapoor were present. Everyone rose to their feet like pupils. I turned around and saw that Sridevi had entered. She simply lowered her head, grinned, and walked away.
At just 24 years old, the level of respect she earned was unparalleled. Beneath that portrayal of a superstar lay a reserved young woman. "She had a quality that suggested arrogance, as if she held herself in high regard, but that wasn't true." She was reserved. Moreover, she felt timid as she was uncertain about her language...
