About MINDSCREEN FILM INSTITUTE (MFi)
Mindscreen Film Institute (MFI), established in 2006 by acclaimed cinematographer, director, actor, and educationist Rajiv Menon, is one of India’s premier institutions for cinematic education. Initially founded with a focus on Cinematography, MFI has since evolved into a comprehensive centre for Film- Making and Direction, known for nurturing creative excellence through a practice- based curriculum. Vision and Pedagogy At the heart of MFI’s philosophy is the belief that a complete filmmaker—whether a director, cinematographer, or editor—must have a deep understanding of all aspects of the cinematic process. Our signature ‘touch-feel-do’ learning model combines immersive, hands-on training with theoretical grounding. Students are guided through the interconnected dimensions of visual storytelling, including script interpretation, cinematography, sound design, music, and editing. MFI’s mission is to inspire students to IMAGINE, THINK, and CREATE, encouraging the development of both technical mastery and artistic vision essential for compelling storytelling.
